An FDA-approved medication to lower glucose in diabetics has shown promise that it may protect the kidneys from a decline in function unrelated to its ability to control glucose. This study is evaluating how this medication may help patients with Chronic Kidney Disease(CKD), who are otherwise healthy or have Type 2 diabetes. Required visits to the clinic are four times a year. All study-related care, and study medication are provided at no cost. Compensation for time and travel is available.
